Restrictions imposed by BOUNDS or RESTRICT statement may not be satisfied with GAUSS method in PROC MODEL


If you specify a BOUNDS or RESTRICT statement in PROC MODEL to impose restrictions on the parameters and if the minimization method used is the default GAUSS method, then some restrictions imposed may not be satisfied at convergence.

To circumvent the problem, specify METHOD = MARQUARDT option on the FIT statement in PROC MODEL.
