The FILENAME SFTP access method is disabled in SAS Viya since 2020.1 and later. SAS does not ship a SFTP client nor cryptographic libraries for the SAS® Viya® platform. 

Alternate Option List:

• As of 2026.09, the FILENAME SFTP access method can be enabled under LOCKDOWN mode. SAS does not recommend that customers enable SFTP. However, if you choose to enable SFTP, make sure to get your own SFTP client and cryptographic libraries mounted through storage.
• Use FILENAME FTP (with TLS) support. This method uses SSL/TLS instead of SSH.
