When you run a program in SAS Studio, the Submission Status window displays the program name and relevant information. When you view a submission by clicking in the Submission Status window, the log is displayed in HTML and uses the enhanced Log Viewer. The enhanced Log Viewer lists the errors, warnings, and notes in the log and enables you to click one of those messages to go to that message in the log. 

However, background submissions are removed from the Submission Status window when the user session completes. You can still navigate to the log in the Explorer section and open it, but the log will be displayed in plain text. 

The fix for this issue retains the background submissions in the Submission Status window for 96 hours or until you specifically remove the background submissions from the list. You can view the log for the background submission by using the enhanced Log Viewer during that time.
