An unrestricted SAS metadata user identity should not be used as the user ID credential in SAS Enterprise Guide to log on to a SAS^® Metadata Server. Unrestricted user accounts are intended for use solely as metadata administrative accounts for SAS^® Management Console. The default unrestricted account user ID is "sasadm."

Users with unrestricted user status can access all content on the metadata server (except for passwords, which an unrestricted user can overwrite but cannot read). When the unrestricted user account is inappropriately used from a client application other than SAS Management Console, there is no reliable way to predict which logon credentials will be used in an attempt to start a SAS Workspace server process. This might cause deletion of the particular login metadata object that was selected.
