Column selection and exclusion for exported data from Table objects might not select or exclude the intended column in a SAS® Visual Analytics report

In SAS Visual Analytics reports, when you export data from a Table object, you can select and exclude columns from the export.

However, an issue might occur where your selection or exclusion of any column in the Export Data window might not select or exclude the expected column. Instead, another column might be selected or excluded.

The issue might occur in SAS® Viya® Stable 2026.03, SAS® Viya® Stable 2026.04, and SAS® Viya® Stable LTS 2026.03.

Specifically, this issue occurs when you complete steps similar to the following:

  1. Open a SAS Visual Analytics report that contains a List table or a Cross-table object.
  2. Select a table object and click the three vertical dots in the top right corner of the window.
  3. Click ExportData from the menu.
  4. The Export Data window opens and displays the available columns. Click Clear selection to clear all of columns.
  5. Click any column that you want to select.
  6. Regardless of the position of the chosen column, the first excluded column is displayed at the top of the list as selected instead.
  7. Similarly, when you try to clear (that is, exclude) any column from the list of selected columns, the first column displayed at the bottom of the list is excluded instead.

Here are some examples:

The following screenshot shows that if you try to select the Type column, the Make column is selected instead.

The Make column is selected instead of the Type column.

The following screenshot shows that, after selecting all the columns (with Select all), when you try to clear the Type column, the first column (Invoice) is displayed at the bottom of the list as excluded.

The first column (Invoice) is displayed at the bottom of the list as excluded.

Resolution or Workaround

There is no workaround for this issue

The issue is fixed in SAS® Viya® Stable 2026.05.
