Opening a table in the SAS Studio table viewer displays the variable names only if the table uses custom formats and the formats are not defined in the format catalog. If these formats are not defined, the table viewer is suspended before displaying the data.
This issue affects SAS Studio versions LTS 2025.09 and LTS 2026.03 and stable versions from 2025.09 to 2026.09.
Set the nofmterr system option to allow the table viewer to open without the custom formats:
options nofmterr;
If you have a custom format catalog, you can add the catalog to the FMTSEARCH path so that SAS finds the format definitions.
