The SAS®Viya® Copilot Activate, Deactivate, or Renew Secret functions in SAS® Environment Manager fail


The SAS Viya Copilot Activate, Renew, and Deactivate actions in SAS Environment Manager fail when you run the following SAS Viya Stables:

The following error occurs when the actions fail:

An error occurred. The requested action could not be completed.

In the details, the following message surfaces:

Failed to retrieve token" with the path "/genAiGateway/v1/status".

The SAS Viya Copilot functions for activation, renewal, and deactivation use the SAS Viya Orders API. However, the Orders API has been updated, and the old secrets and authentication method deprecates on April 20, 2026.

Workaround

If you have not already, use the new method to obtain a SAS Viya Orders API credential for SAS Viya Copilot with the SAS Developer Portal, as described in SAS Viya Orders API - Authentication.

Store that credential in the OrdersAPIAuth domain in SAS Environment Manager - Credentials page, as described in Credentials and Secrets Setup for SAS Viya Copilot.

For SAS Viya Stable 2025.12, you need to upgrade to 2026.01 or later.

For SAS Viya Stable 2026.01, 2026.02, and 2026.03, apply a patch update if your deployed sas-environment-manager-app version is earlier than the following:

Note that SAS Viya 2026.04 and later do not require an update.
