The first time that you open a task against a very large data set, you might experience a significant decrease in performance. After the data set has been used as the input data set for a task, subsequent uses in other tasks should not affect performance.

The performance decrease occurs because SAS Enterprise Guide uploads the entire local data set to the default server so that the task can be run. As a workaround, copy the large local data set to the server or place it in a metadata library.
