A value of 2 or 3 for the smh_sdd_ind field in the system message header (SMH) segment does not work correctly in SAS® Fraud Management 6.1


The meaning of the smh_sdd_ind field in the system message header (SMH) segment changed in SAS Fraud Management 4.4M1 HF 4 and later releases. The smh_sdd_ind field is now used to control whether models and rules are executed by the SAS OnDemand Decision Engine. The default behavior (smh_sdd_ind = 1) indicates that both models and rules are executed for the transaction. Changing the value as shown in the following table should alter the behavior. However, in SAS Fraud Management 6.1, setting the smh_sdd_ind field to 2 or 3 does not produce the expected results.
