Starting with SAS Viya 2024.12 (December 2024), the SAS Drive application is deprecated and is disabled by default. SAS Drive will remain available only temporarily and is scheduled to be formally retired in SAS^® Viya^® 2026.06 (June 2026).

Note: SAS Drive functionality has not been removed. Instead, its capabilities are available through other SAS Viya applications, which are now the recommended access points going forward.

The functionality previously provided by SAS Drive is available in the following locations:

Welcome to SAS Viya

replaces SAS Drive as the default landing page
serves as the central entry point to SAS Viya applications
provides access to demos and quick links

The Content Page in SAS^® Environment Manager

replaces SAS Drive for content management
supports browsing, organizing, and managing shared content
covers most common SAS Drive use cases

Can SAS Drive Still Be Enabled?

Yes, but only temporarily. Administrators can re-enable SAS Drive if required using platform configuration options. This capability is intended to support transition planning and user training.

Important: The ability to re-enable SAS Drive will be removed when the product is formally retired in SAS Viya 2026.06. Administrators should plan to migrate workflows before that release.

Recommended Actions

For Administrators

Review current usage of SAS Drive in your environment.
Inform users of the deprecation and upcoming retirement.
Promote use o the following:
- Welcome to SAS Viya
- the Content page in SAS Environment Manager
- application-specific content areas
Avoid long-term dependency on re-enabling SAS Drive.

For End Users

Use Welcome to SAS Viya as your starting point.
Manage shared content through SAS Environment Manager ► Content.
Use application home pages (for example, SAS^® Visual Analytics) to manage reports and assets.
