SSL errors can suddenly occur when you use SAS/ACCESS Interface to ODBC to connect to Microsoft SQL Server. The problem occurs under the following conditions:
If you test the connection using the ODBC administrator, you see SSL errors.
This issue occurs after you apply the CVE-2020-0601 | Windows CryptoAPI Spoofing Vulnerability patch to your Windows operating system. This update checks for EEC certificates.
The problem occurs because these older drivers do not support SSL.
To circumvent the problem, you should install the latest ODBC driver for SQL Server and recreate the ODBC DSN entry to use this driver. The current version is Version 17.
