"The file xxxxx could not be cached for local use" SAS® Enterprise Guide® server list error


Within the SAS Enterprise Guide server list, attempting to expand one or more libraries can produce the following error message:

The file xxxxx could not be cached for local use.

In addition to the error, folder icons are not properly displayed inside the server list.

This error typically indicates a problem with the underlying directory permissions as defined in the SAS server host operating system.

To correct the error, assign correct file permissions to allow appropriate access.
