The SAS® Visual Investigator Alert Generation Process fails with "Replication failed due to an internal server error" and "ORA-00942"

The SAS Visual Investigator and SAS® Anti-Money Laundering Alert Generation Process (AGP) fails after several hours of execution with the following error at the Replicate Events step:

Replication failed due to an internal server error.

ServiceException: Replication failed due to an internal server error.

Replicate Events EXT shows a Failed status

The failure occurs during the replication phase of the AGP job. Investigation of the sas-svi-vsd pod logs reveals the following Oracle error:

ORA-00942: table or view does not exist.

In addition, the sas-svi-vsd logs contain the following:

{"version":1,"timeStamp":"2026-08-26T23:00:46.321Z","level":"error","source":"sas-svi-vsd-service","message":"Failed to replicate\ncom.sas.svi.jdbc.oracle.base.c: [SAS][Oracle JDBC Driver][Oracle]ORA-00942: table or view does not exist\n","properties":{"logger":"com.sas.fcs.vsd.pipeline.service.SqlBatchService","thread":" vsdDIB_Data_Step_Daily_adbcd735_dc15_4744_b7e5_3b18b01137e1__ reThreadPoolTaskExecutor-1","__tenant":"__default__","username":"xxxxxxxx"}}

Cause

The replication process uses the AML_REPLICATE Oracle account to access source objects required for event replication.

This issue could be caused by the following:

As a result, when the SAS Visual Investigator Scenario Administration microservice (VSD) attempts to replicate events, Oracle returns ORA-00942: table or view does not exist, which causes the Replicate Events EXT task to fail and the overall AGP flow to terminate.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, complete the following steps:

  1. Check if the table or view exists in the AML_REPLICATE schema.
  2. If the table or view does exist, check the following:
    • Check the privileges of the AML_REPLICATE user on the AMLPREP tables. If the AML_REPLICATE user lacks the necessary privileges on objects owned by the AMLPREP schema, the AGP job fails.
    • Check direct object grants from the AMLPREP schema to the AML_REPLICATE user.
    • Provide SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE privileges to the AML_REPLICATE user on all the AMLPREP tables.
  3. If the data store points to the wrong Oracle service or DR database, then point the data store to the correct one to prevent the ORA-00942 errors.
