After you update to SAS Enterprise Guide 8.2, you might be unable to run code against the Local SAS Server. As a result, the following occurs:

• the Run button is disabled (that is, the button is grayed out)
• the Servers pane does not list Local

This behavior can occur if the option to automatically add the local SAS server is not enabled after the update.

Workaround

To circumvent this issue, complete the following steps:

1. In SAS Enterprise Guide, select Tools ► Connections.
2. Click the Servers tab.
3. Select the Automatically add local SAS server (if installed) to server list check box.
4. Click OK.

After enabling this option, Local should be displayed in the Servers list, and the Run button should be available.

Additional Information

• This setting affects only the Local SAS Server.
• Connections to remote SAS servers are not affected.
