SAS/STAT^® software procedures such as SCORE, VARCLUS, and FACTOR can accept as input the OUTSTAT= data set created by PROC FACTOR. If you did not specify the SCORE option in the PROC FACTOR statement, you might encounter one of these error messages

ERROR: _TYPE_='SCORE' not found.

ERROR: No observation of scoring coefficients (_TYPE_ = 'SCORE') is found in the SCORE= data set.

ERROR: No factors in data set.

To resolve the problem, repeat the PROC FACTOR step and include the SCORE option. The SCORE option saves the _TYPE_=SCORE observations in the OUTSTAT= data set that are needed by the procedure reading the data set.
