The X12 procedure causes SAS to terminate when the following conditions occur:

• the default MODE=MULT option or the MODE=LOGADD option is specified in the X11 statement, and
• the DATA= data set contains negative values for all observations for at least one of the variables listed in the VAR statement

The MODE=MULT or MODE=LOGADD option in the X11 statement should be used only for series with all positive values. If a series contains zero or negative values, then either the MODE=ADD or MODE=PSEUDOADD should be used to perform the seasonal adjustment. If all data values are negative, then the MODE=ADD option should be used.
