SAS Documentation Viewer (SASDocViewer.exe) fails to launch and produces a "System Error"

When launching the SAS Documentation Viewer on a Windows Workstation or Server, an error message similar to the following might occur:

"o	The code execution cannot proceed because MSVCR120.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem."

Versions of the SAS Document Viewer utility prior to SAS® 9.4M9 (TS1M9) still require the 2013 version of the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package to be installed. You are required to install this version even if the Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 component was not included in your software order and did not get installed by SAS® Deployment Wizard as a prerequisite.

Workaround

To circumvent this issue, install the 2013 version of the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package from Update for Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable Package - Microsoft Support or https://aka.ms/highdpimfc2013x64enu.

Note: If this component is already installed according to Windows, you might need to repair or uninstall and re-install the existing version to resolve this error.
