When connecting to a SAS server or spawner using SSL, the following message occurs in the SAS Server or Spawner log.

New client connection accepted from server port xxxx for user <userid>.  Encryption level is Everything using encryption algorithm yyyyy. Peer IP address and port are [ciient ipadress]: 
<ephemeral port> for APPNAME=zzzzzzzz. 

However, the message does not show that SSL is being used. The message might state that the encryption algorithm AES or SASProprietary (or other) is being used.

This message is misleading.

If you enable enhanced trace logging, the following message is displayed, which confirms that SSL is being used.
