A message or error occurs when you attempt to run the %INDNZ_PUBLISH_COMPILEUDF macro on the SAS® Formats Library for Netezza


A message or error similar to either of the following might occur when you attempt to run the %INDNZ_PUBLISH_COMPILEUDF macro:

Failed to CREATE function sas_compileudf ERROR: CLI execute error: ERROR: replacing function: permission denied

This issue occurs because the permissions are incorrect for the SAS Formats Library and for binary files that are unpacked on the Netezza server. Execute permission is removed from these files when they are unpacked on the server and must be added back by the installer once they are on the Netezza server. Execute permission is needed in order to create the SAS_COMPILEUDF, SAS_DIRECTORYUDF, and SAS_HEXTOTEXTUDF functions.
