An S0C4 abend can occur in sites that run with PROC SYNCSORT and upgrade to SAS 9.4. The issue has been identified as a PROC SYNCSORT issue.

If you run with ENTRY=SAS, the following error might occur:

Note: Depending on the ENTRY= value that SAS uses, module SABXSHL or SABXSPL might occur instead of SASXSHEL.

Contact Syncsort support and request the fix. All APARs have to be applied up to the following versions:

Until you install the PROC SYNCSORT fix, disable PROC SYNCSORT to circumvent the failure.
