For deployments on physical machines, review the CPU power-management settings in the system BIOS and in the operating system. Settings such as the system power profile, processor C-states, and processor frequency scaling can directly affect SAS workload performance and execution times. Energy saving power policies can reduce processor operating frequencies and introduce latency as processors transition into and out of low power C-states. When performance is the priority, SAS recommends configuring the system BIOS with a maximum performance power profile and verifying that the operating system is not applying a power saving CPU policy. Consult your hardware vendor to determine the appropriate configuration.
