Beginning in SAS^® 9.3, the FILLPATTERNATTRS= option in the BARCHART statement in the Graph Template Language (GTL) provides the ability to specify a pattern fill for bar charts.

In addition, patterns can be specified with the FILLPATTERN style element attribute. The valid values are: S, E, L1, L2, L3, L4, L5, R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, X1, X2, X3, X4, and X5. Fill patterns are enabled by default in the JOURNAL2, JOURNAL3, and MONOCHROMEPRINTER styles.
