"Failure obtaining CAS Management microservice response" appears when opening a SAS® Visual Analytics report


When you open a SAS Visual Analytics report, you might see the following error:

Error: Failure obtaining CAS Management microservice response. Please ask your administrator to review the log.

This error can occur if you do not have ReadInfo permission to the data source used in the report. When this problem occurs, the cas_[datetime]_[machinename]_[id].log contains a message that is similar to this one:

sasdemo 23135 [tkperm.c:6618] - ReadInfo access denied for user sasdemo
on table TESTPERM.sashdat in caslib Public.

For adjustments to your permissions, contact your system administrator.
