When using SAS® Enterprise Guide®, if you try to expand the SAS Application (SASApp) Server folder, the following error might occur:
[Error] Unable to launch the process; LoadUserProfile returned rc 299
(Only part of a ReadProcessMemory or WriteProcessMemory request was completed.)
This issue can be a result of the following:
- Kaspersky anti-virus software is installed on your machine, and the location of the SASUser folder has not been added as an exemption in the Applications settings in Kaspersky.
- The Windows profile for the user attempting to connect to the SASApp Server via SAS Enterprise Guide is corrupted.
To resolve this issue, do one of the following:
- Add the Windows profile for the user to the Exclusions list in the Kaspersky folder in the Applications Settings.
- Or re-create the Windows profile(s) for the user(s) on the SASApp Server.
