The Validator control does not prevent SAR90 cases from being created in SAS® Visual Investigator

If you disposition an alert to create a case, the Create case window displays a Case type drop-down list, which contains a SAR90 option. You should not select SAR90. If you do select SAR90, the Validator (Compliance) control should prevent the case from being created. However, the control does not prevent the case from being created as expected.

For example, this issue occurs when you do either of the following:

In either of the above scenarios, if you set the Case type to SAR90 in the Create case window and click OK after providing the information for all of the required fields, a SAR90 case is created. (This is not the expected behavior.)

Note that the Validator control works as expected when you complete steps similar to the following:

  1. Select New Case from the Cases page.
  2. Set the Case type to SAR90.
  3. Click Save after providing the information for all of the required fields.

The Validator control prevents the SAR90 case from being created and issues the following error:

"SAR90 is an invalid case type for a manual case."

Workaround

An Administrator can add a Text Label control prior to the Case type on the Create a New Case page to remind investigators not to set the Case type to SAR90.

On the Create a New Case page, here is an example of the Text Label placement:

"NOTE: Do not set Case type to SAR90."

As shown in the following screenshot, the Text Label Style is set to Bold

The Style of the Text Label is set to "Bold"

After the administrator adds the Text Label to the Create a New Case page, when you create a new case, you will be reminded not to set the Case type to SAR90:

The Text Label (reminder) is displayed above the Case type drop-down list.
