The Share condition of SAS® Model Studio projects does not work consistently

When you specify a Share condition from a SAS Model Studio project list, a pop-up window is displayed that indicates the project was shared successfully.

The Share window of the "Sample_Project"

The item Sample_Project has been shared with 1 other(s).

However, re-opening the Share window does not retain any of the conditions.

The Share window - "Shared with these users and groups (0):

In this scenario, you can create and execute a SAS Model Studio project. However, intermittently, a project is created without appropriate authorization. That lack of authorization prevents you from sharing the project.

Workaround

To circumvent this issue, do either of the following:

Use the SAS Administrator Role

Users with the SAS Administrator role have authorization to view, modify, and set sharing conditions of projects. Therefore, with the SAS Administrator role, you can specify a share condition.

Modify the Authorization of the SAS Model Project File

Using the SAS Administrator role, complete the following steps:

  1. Access SAS® Environment Manager and select Contents.
  2. Expand SAS Contents as /Users/<User ID>/My Folder or /Users/<User ID>/Recent.
  3. Select a file that corresponds to a SAS Model Studio project. Right-click the file and select Authorization
  4. Edit Authorization and grant Read, Update, Delete, and Secure access for the User ID (project owner).
  5. Save.
