In SAS^® Studio 2025.06 and later versions, uploading files larger than one GB to SAS Server or SAS Content might fail with the following error:

The file <file_name> could not be uploaded.

This issue can occur even when you increase the sas.studio.maxUploadSize and sas.files.maxFileSizeMB configuration properties to allow larger uploads.

This behavior is a known limitation. A solution for this issue is being actively investigated.

Additional Information

In SAS^® Studio LTS 2025.09 releases earlier than 20261203 and SAS^® Studio Stable 2026.10 releases earlier than 20260512, upload attempts for files larger than one GB might display the following message:

The selected files have been successfully uploaded to SAS Server.

This message is inaccurate. Despite the confirmation, files larger than one GB might not be uploaded successfully. As a result, you should verify that the file exists and is accessible in the target location before assuming that the upload completed successfully.

Workaround

Until this limitation is addressed, complete one of the following workarounds:

For Uploads to SAS Server Locations Only

• Use operating system commands or file transfer utilities.
  
• Use the UploadFile.sh script, which you can find via the following URL: https://github.com/sassoftware/sas-viya-admin-utilities/tree/main/compute

For Uploads to SAS^® Content

• Upload the file to the SAS Server using the options described in the previous section. Then, copy the file to SAS Content.
