Microsoft Excel files fail to upload when the blockedTypes Consul property includes "application/octet-stream" in SAS® Studio 5.2


You can add application/octet-stream to the blockedTypes Consul property of the Files service in SAS® Environment Manager to prevent users from uploading Microsoft Windows BAT files from SAS® Visual Investigator:

However, this configuration subsequently causes the upload of .xlsx files from SAS Studio to a SAS Content folder to fail with the following error:

 

Error uploading file "TEST_Upload.xlsx". Please make sure that the file is available and you have permission to upload to the target location.

 

Workaround

To work around this issue, navigate to SAS® Drive and upload the Microsoft Excel file to the designated folder.
