In the Safari browser, when you use the Tab key to navigate through all the elements on a web page, you cannot access the button elements.

For example, when you use the Tab key to navigate, you should be able to use the Spacebar to click the buttons. However, when this issue occurs, you cannot navigate to any button without using your mouse pointer. (That is, you cannot click the button with your Spacebar.)

Workaround

To circumvent this issue, complete the following steps to apply a Safari setting: 

1. Open Safari.
2. Click Safari on the menu bar and choose Settings.
3. Click the Advanced tab.
4. In the Accessibility section, select the box next to the Press Tab to highlight each item on a webpage option.
