The SAS® Federation Server configuration file fails to migrate

When you migrate a SAS® Real-Time Decision Manager 6.6 system to another SAS Real-Time Decision Manager 6.6 system, a SAS® Federation Server 6.5 configuration file might fail to migrate. In this scenario, the following failure occurs in the dcsvcfedcfg_configure_date-timestamps.log when it tries to create its software component:

[Application Metadata Utility: <Config>/Lev1/AppData/DeploymentMetadata/dcsvcfedcfg/dcsvcfedcfg.appxml] Java Result: 8
[echo] ApplicationMetadataUtility has failed.  Error parsing source XML.
[echo]   cvc-maxLength-valid: Value 'Decision Svcs Fed Svr Cfg 6.4 - kdmcid11 - ${dcsvcfedcfg.migrated.object.configobj.dcsvcfedcfg.inst.number}' with length = '107' is not facet-valid with respect to maxLength '60' for type 'Name'.
     [echo] Return Code: 8
Property "dcsvcfedcfg.migrated.object.configobj.dcsvcfedcfg.inst.number" has not been set

For example, this issue might occur when you complete steps similar to the following:

  1. Migrate SAS Real-Time Decision Manager 6.6 on SAS® 9.4M2 (TS1M2) to SAS® 9.4M6 (TS1M6).
  2. Update the environment to SAS® 9.4M7 (TS1M7).
  3. Update the environment to SAS® 9.4M7 (TS1M9).
  4. Create a migration package. Migration of the dcsvcfedcfg file fails, and the above message is displayed.
