SAS® Studio reports "The custom step has been updated" for any flows that were created in 2025.05 or earlier and then moved to 2025.06 or later


A SAS Studio flow that contains Custom Steps might display the following warning even if you did not change anything:

Some Custom Steps being used in this flow have been updated

If you click a red exclamation mark in the flow, the following message is also displayed: 

The Custom Step has been updated. Reload to retrieve the latest changes.

These messages should not be displayed. Note that these messages do not affect the data, the Custom Step, nor the SAS Studio flow.

This issue affects any flows that were created in 2025.05 or earlier and then moved to 2025.06 or later.

A patch is available for LTS-2025.09, Stable 2025.10, and Stable-2025.11. This issue is fixed in Stable 2026.02.
