The SAS® Studio Import file functionality does not honor the file name specified in the content selector (Save As) window


The Import file functionality in SAS Studio, either standalone or as a node in a flow, allows the selection of the file to be imported by drag and drop.

Drag a file from your desktop or server, or select an import button.

Once you drop the file, a content selection window is displayed where you can specify the name to be used when saving the file in the destination folder.

Regardless of the name that you specify in the Name field, the Import file uses the same name as the file being imported. This behavior implies that, if the destination folder already contains a file with the same name as the file that you are importing, the file will be overridden.

This is a bug that affects all versions of SAS Studio up to Stable 2026.01.

The first SAS Studio version that contains the fix is Stable 2026.02.
