An "Unable to load the children for the item..." error occurs in SAS® Enterprise Guide® 8.6 when a user without permissions tries to open SAS content


An error occurs in SAS® Enterprise Guide® 8.6 when a user without READ permissions in the Public folder tries to open SAS content.

Unable to load the children for the item named "SAS Content". The requested operation could not be performed by the SAS server. An error occurred while retrieving file properties.

A change in permissions in SAS® Environment Manager that prohibits UserA from accessing the Public folder causes this issue.

Specifically, this issue occurs when you log on to SAS Enterprise Guide 8.6 as UserA and then click SAS content from the server.

Resolution or Workaround

There is no workaround for this issue.

The issue will be fixed in SAS Enterprise Guide 8.6.
