When you run SAS with UTF-8 encoding and extract data from Teradata, using a Teradata TTU client that is also configured with UTF-8 encoding, data might be incorrect or garbled when read into SAS. This issue can occur if the Teradata table contains a PERIOD data type column. Incorrect data can occur in the PERIOD column itself and the columns to the right of that column. This problem occurs due to an internal buffer overflow in the SAS/ACCESS® engine.
