When you open a library in SAS Enterprise Guide from a SAS Viya server, it can take a long time until the library expands and the tables are displayed. This issue does not occur with a SAS^® 9 server.

The more libraries that are assigned to the SAS Viya server, and the more members or tables that are in those libraries (especially databases like Oracle), the longer it takes the library to expand.

This issue is caused by internal requests that are made to the SASHELP.VMEMBER, SASHELP.VTABLE, SASHELP.VLIBNAM, and so on, dictionary tables of the SAS Viya server. 

Resolution

This issue is solved with SAS^® Enterprise Guide^® Update 3 or later.
