The "Open File" dialog box in SAS® Enterprise Guide® does not display any tables in the Libraries from a SAS® Viya® server


When you try to open SAS files using the Open File dialog box in SAS Enterprise Guide, no tables are displayed.

This issue occurs when you use SAS® Enterprise Guide® 8.6 Update 3 and a SAS Viya server.

Here are some example scenarios:

Scenario 1

Navigate to File ► Open ► Servers ► Browse ► open your SAS Viya Server ► Libraries ► open any Library.

No data is displayed in the Open File dialog box:

The Open File dialog box is empty. No data is displayed.

Scenario 2

  1. Open a library in the Servers pane of SAS Enterprise Guide that contains more than 500 tables.
  2. Scroll down to the bottom of that library.

    A message similar to the following is displayed:
    Showing 500 of 551 data items "Browse"

  3. Click Browse. The affected Open File dialog box opens, but no tables are displayed

Scenario 3

When you use the Save File or Insert data dialog box with a SAS Viya Server, no tables are displayed:

Workaround 

To work around the issue described in Scenario 1, open the library from Servers pane. All tables are available in the Libraries.

There is no workaround for the issue described in Scenario 2 and 3.
