SAS® Metadata Server Configuration fails with "Error creating repository. . . " after you apply a hot fix


If you deploy from a SAS Software Depot that includes Hot Fix P6F008 for SAS Middle Tier 9.4_M9, the SAS Metadata Server Configuration fails with the following error:

The following problem was encountered while configuring SAS Metadata Server Configuration: Error creating repository...

In addition, the metadatasrv_configureMetadata log contains messages similar to the following:

"BUILD FAILED . . . The following error occurred while executing this line..." messages.

Workaround

To work around this deployment failure, complete the following steps:

  1. Edit the following picklists:
    $SASHOME/SASPlatformObjectFramework/9.4/picklists/sas.batch.metadata.picklist
    $SASHOME/SASPlatformObjectFramework/9.4/picklists/sas.batch.metadata.mgmt.picklist

  2. Delete the revision for Saxon 12.8.0.0_SAS_20251210101303 and replace it with 9.0.0.8_SAS_20240521164557. The entry would look similar to the following:

    name=Saxon
    version=9.0.0.8_SAS_20240521164557

  3. Then, rerun the software configuration.
