The Migration Wizard does not fully update data source references in SAS® Enterprise Guide®

When using the Migration Wizard in SAS Enterprise Guide to remap a folder-type metadata data source, the migrated SAS Enterprise Guide file might not be fully updated if you specify only the folder mapping without a corresponding server mapping.

In this scenario, the migrated project might continue to reference the original (pre-migration) data source instead of the newly mapped target. As a result, processes fail when you open SAS Enterprise Guide project after migration.

Note: This issue does not occur when you specify both the server mapping and folder simultaneously during migration.

Workaround

To work around this issue, complete one of the following methods:

Option 1: Specify Both the Server and Folder Mappings During Migration

When you run the Migration Wizard, always specify both Server mapping and Folder mapping, even if the server has not changed.

Re-selecting the same server together with the new folder mapping ensures that the migration completes successfully and that all data source references are updated correctly.

Option 2: Manually Update the Data Set Mapping in an Already Migrated Project

If you already migrated the SAS Enterprise Guide file and a data set still points to the original location, update the mapping directly in the SAS Enterprise Guide project:

  1. Right-click the data set and select Properties.
  2. On the General tab, click Change next to File name.
  3. Navigate to the appropriate folder and select the correct SAS data file.
  4. Save the project.
