"The flow contains steps that are no longer available" occurs in SAS® Studio


A SAS Studio flow that contains a Custom Step might display an error similar to the following if you replace the Custom Step with a different Custom Step:

The flow contains steps that are no longer available

This issue was first reported in SAS® Studio 2026.03. The workaround is to delete the existing Custom Step and manually readd the new one.

This issue is fixed in SAS® Studio 2026.08 and patches are available for SAS Studio 2026.03 - 2026.07
