Install, remove, or reinstall SAS/GRAPH Maps data sets in SAS® 9.4 TS1M3 or later for z/OS operating environments


Starting in the third maintenance release for SAS 9.4 (TS1M3), if your site is licensed for SAS/GRAPH, you have the option to select which SAS/GRAPH Maps products to install, remove, or reinstall. You can make these selections during or after applying SAS 9.4 TS1M3 (or later releases) or add-on products to existing SAS 9.4 libraries or when performing a new installation of SAS 9.4 TS1M3 or later.

Note: If your media type is CART BASIC, you must install all of the SAS/GRAPH Maps products.

To install, remove, or reinstall SAS/GRAPH Map products, complete the following steps:

  1. Run the SAS® Deployment Wizard.
  2. In the SAS/GRAPH Maps Selection dialog box, select any of the SAS/GRAPH Maps products that you want to install and deselect any that you want to remove:

    Note: If you are applying SAS 9.4 TS1M3 to an existing installation, the previously installed SAS/GRAPH Maps products are selected by default in this dialog box.

    After the SAS Deployment Wizard has completed the installation and shows all green check marks or an S (which indicates that it completed successfully), you see the following job names in the JOBINDEX member of the <high-level-qualifier>.INSTALL.CNTL data set:
    • MAINT01 - MAINTnn if you applied SAS 9.4 TS1M3 or later to an existing installation
    • INSTAL01 - INSTALnn for a new installation

    Note: Optional jobs that you can run to use the online Help system are written in the <hlq>.INSTALL.CNTL data set: use the INSTHELP job for a new installation and the MANTHELP job if you applied SAS 9.4 TS1M3 or later to an existing installation. You must submit these jobs separately.

  3. Generate the ViewRegistry report to verify that the correct SAS/GRAPH and Gfk Maps products were installed or removed from the registry. For more information about the ViewRegistry report, see SAS KB0036131: "Using the ViewRegistry Report and other methods to determine the SAS® 9.2 and later software releases and hot fixes that are installed."

    Here is an example of a ViewRegistry report listing installed products:

  4. To free up space, manually delete the data sets for the products that you removed:
    • If you removed both the GfK GeoMarketing WORLD Maps and GfK GeoMarketing CITIES Maps products, delete the <high-level-qualifier>.MAPSGFK data set.
    • If you removed the SAS/GRAPH Obsolete Maps Data product, delete the <high-level-qualifier>.W0.MAPS data set.

    Note: If you installed these products, verify that the correct data sets are present.
