You might encounter Volume Table of Contents (VTOC) corruption when you try to extend to a new volume for a multi-volume SAS library if the following conditions are true:

• You are working in the z/OS 2.2 operating environment.
• Your system has Data Facility Storage Management Subsystem (DFSMS) Device Manager Secondary Space Reduction enabled.
• You encountered abend SE37.
• No storage space is available.
