If the DATE= variable specified on the PROC X12 statement is a SAS datetime variable, then PROC X12 terminates with the following errors:

Error: Invalid Operation

Error: Termination due to Floating Point Exception

No output is generated by the procedure.

To circumvent the problem, create a new SAS date variable from the SAS datetime variable by using the DATEPART function in a DATA step. Specify this newly created SAS date variable in the DATE= option on the PROC X12 statement.
