SAS/ACCESS® Interface to Hadoop might fail to connect to a Kerberized Hadoop when SAS is running in an AIX operating environment

When you attempt to issue a LIBNAME statement to current releases of Hadoop from AIX, the LIBNAME statement might fail and return various Java errors. Here is an example of one such error:

ERROR: java.sql.SQLException: Could not open client transport with JDBC Uri: jdbc:hive2://sas.com:10000/default;principal=hive/xxx@SAS.COM: Peer indicated failure: Problem with callback handler

These issues are more likely to occur on older SAS installations, particularly SAS® 9.4 TS1M2 and earlier, because the problem can be related to older versions of the SAS Private JRE under AIX.

To circumvent the problem, install the current SAS Private JRE, which is available from SAS Note 56203: "Downloading the SAS® Private Java Runtime Environment Version 7 update for SAS® 9.3 and SAS® 9.4."
