The error "Insufficient authorization to perform operation on file" occurs when you try to start SAS® LASR™ Analytic Server


When you attempt to start the SAS LASR Analytic Server, an error might occur and, often, the SAS LASR Analytic Server might fail to start. Or when you try to load a table to the SAS LASR Analytic Server, you might see an error about the LASR Analytic Server that is associated with the selected library not running. Here is an example based on loading of an Excel file.

 

 

To see details about the error, click the Show Details button in the message. Here is an example:

This issue is often caused when the SAS LASR Analytic Server has been shut down incorrectly.

Workaround

  1. Delete the PID file that is identified in the error details.
  2. Restart the SAS LASR Analytic Server.
