Troubleshooting failures to load tables into a SAS® Visual Analytics Environment that contains multiple application server contexts


When importing/loading data into LASR, you might encounter the following error if your environment contains a SAS Visual Analytics Application Server context:

ERROR: The LASR Analytic Server on 'xxxxxxxxxxx.com' port 10031 is running on a host platform that is not supported by your SAS client platform.

ERROR: Libref LASRLIB is not assigned

ERROR: Error in the LIBNAME statement

Here are some items to check to ensure that your environment is pointing to the SAS Visual Analytics Application Server context.

  1. Check the Assign tab of your LASR library:
    • Open SAS® Management Console ► click the Plug-Ins tab ► expand Data Library Manager ► expand Libraries.
    • Right-click the LASR library in question ► select Properties ► click the Assign tab.
    • Ensure that the SAS Visual Analytics Application server context is listed under Selected Servers.

  2. Check the Application Server preferences:
    • In the SAS Visual Analytics Administrator, select File ► Preferences.
    • Under SAS Visual Analytics Administrator, select Application Server. In the drop-down menu, ensure that the SAS Visual Analytics Application server context is selected.

  3. In the event that you are attempting to load/import data from SAS® Visual Data Builder:
    • In the SAS Visual Data Builder, select File ► Preferences.
    • Under SAS Visual Data Builder, select General ► ensure that the Application Server drop-down list points to the SAS Visual Analytics Application Sever Context.
