You cannot resize the left menu pane in SAS® Fraud Management 6.1

In SAS Fraud Management 6.1, when you click the splitter bar to resize the left pane, the cursor stops responding and stays in drag mode. When this issue occurs, you cannot drop the splitter at the position that you want. This issue exists for these tabs: Reports, Strategies, Templates, Business Units, Users, Models, Explore, Preferences, Console, and Tables.

The issue is caused by a defect in HTML Commons 9. In HTML Commons 10 and 11, the issue is fixed. However, SAS Fraud Management 6.1 does not support the newer versions.

Workarounds

You can work around the issue (if your cursor is already stuck in drag mode) by trying one of the following workarounds:

Option 1:

  1. Move the mouse cursor over and along the banner at the top of the page until you the slider is positioned where you want it.
  2. Then click the banner, and the slider will stay in that position.

Option 2:

Refresh the browser page.

Prevention

To avoid the problem altogether, try one of the following solutions:

Option 1:

Use the keyboard alternative, as follows:

  1. Click the tab to the grab the handle of the splitter so that it has the focus.
  2. Press the keyboard arrow keys to move the splitter to the position that you want.

Option 2:

Drag the splitter very slowly so that the mouse pointer never moves off of the splitter itself.

Option 3:

If the page has toolbars under the banner (as many pages do):

  1. Start dragging the splitter between the toolbars and keep the drag over the toolbars.
  2. Drop the splitter at the position that you want.
