In SAS Visual Analytics 7.5, importing Microsoft Excel files into SAS Visual Analytics generates temporary XLSX files on the middle tier in the following directory: 

SAS-configuration-directory/Levn/Web/Logs/SASServern/temp

These files are never cleaned up by the server. They are safe for manual deletion.
