Formulas based on SAS® data sets might return incorrect values when you add new columns and refresh in SAS® Add-In for Microsoft Office


When you add new columns and refresh, formulas that are based on data inserted from SAS data sets might return incorrect values in SAS Add-In for Microsoft Office.

For example, you encounter this issue if you complete steps similar to the following:

  1. Add a data set in SAS Add-In for Microsoft Office and add the following formulas:

Formulas are correctly applied, as shown below:

  1. Try to add a new column to the data set and use the Refresh button to refresh the data set in SAS Add-In for Microsoft Office. After refreshing, the formula I4 "=F4" incorrectly changes to J4 “=G4”. Therefore, the formula's result also incorrectly changes from 98 to 1:

Note: This problem affects only formulas that are based on the last column in the data set. As you can see in the following image, the formula I6 "=E4" still returns the correct result after you add the new column and refresh the data set.

No workaround is available.
