SAS® Enterprise Guide® and SAS® Add-In for Microsoft Office hang indefinitely when attempting to connect to a SAS® 9.4M8 (TS1M8) Metadata Server


When attempting to connect to a SAS 9.4M8 Metadata Server using SAS Enterprise Guide or SAS Add-In for Microsoft Office, the connection might hang indefinitely. When you review the SAS Metadata Server log, no entries occur for the hung connection attempt.

SAS Enterprise Guide and SAS Add-In for Microsoft Office depend on the required component, SAS® Integration Technologies client, for remote server connections. SAS 9.4M8 remote server connections require SAS® Integration Technologies client 9.49 or later.

To verify the release of the SAS Integration Technologies client installation, follow the steps in SAS KB0036131, “Using the ViewRegistry Report to determine the software releases and hot fixes that are installed.”

To update the client machine with the latest SAS Integration Technologies client, follow the steps in Add SAS Products That Do Not Require Configuration using the SAS 9.4M8 order.
