How to manually remove the SAS® Grid Manager for Hadoop node

Attempts to remove the SAS Grid Manager for Hadoop node using SAS® Deployment Manager ► Remove Existing Configuration fail with the following pop-up window information:

The following problem was encountered while configuring SAS Grid Manager for Hadoop Node Configuration

An error occurred uninstalling the requested configuration.

Configuration script:

/install/SASHome/SASFoundation/9.4/misc/base/sasconf/grdcnodeh/config/gridcnodeh_config.xml

Complete the following steps to manually removing the gridnodeh configuration from the nodes. Note that there is no representation of gridnodeh in the metadata, so the only cleanup required is in the configuration.

  1. On the node machines, do as follows:
    1. Edit SASConfig\Lev1\ConfigData\status.xml filem.

    2. Remove the entry for gridnodeh.
      Here is an example entry:
      <ConfiguredObject code="grdcnodeh" fqid="grdcnodeh" order="0BXPW2"/>

    3. Save the file.
  2. On the node machines, navigate to the SASConfig\Lev1\SASApp directory and delete the GridServer directory and its content.

Note: If you have multiple nodes, complete these instructions on each node to remove gridnodeh.
